most unusual set of c. 1940′s solidly constructed american folk art open-palmed human hands replete with friction ridges, fingernails, knuckles and “life lines.” the artists hands are comprised of solid cast iron with a uniform, brushed metal finish (the accumulated rust really obscured the fine detailing). the wrists contain heavy gauge steel eyelet hooks with three links of chain. approximate time of fabrication based loosely on the scant information given to us upon acquisition. unidentified artist. priced for the pair.
