single visually striking refinished american made heavily ornamented late 19th century original and intact perforated cast iron interior chicago commercial building staircase railing baluster panel executed by the winslow brothers, chicago, il. their 1901 catalog features this diminutive baluster in their custom design selection. the exact building from which the double-sided panel was salvaged from is still ongoing, although the architects were likely burnham and root or holabird and roche. the intricately designed neoclassical style panel dates to the late 19th century. the athemions and bellflowers are finely executed. the building artifact has been brushed down (had been painted over numerous times) to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. very limited selection available. possibly salvaged from a daniel h. burnham-designed chicago building.
