very unique and highly stylized art deco style cast plaster cove molding fragment salvaged from the nortown theater (non-extant) located in chicago, il. the plaster section was mounted in an enclosed stairwell leading to the second floor lobby. unique zig-zag design motif accentuated with diamonds. the curved portion features super streamlined waves. older polychrome enameled finish. plaster likely fabricated by the decorators’ supply co., chicago. the c. 1931 northside chicago atmospheric theater or movie palace was designed by architect j.e.o. pridemore.
