assortment of american victorian era “real bronze” hopkins & dickinson’s hardware recently added

urban remains recently obtained a sizeable amount of well-maintained and intricately designed “real bronze” interior residential entrance, passage and pocket door hardware designed and fabricated by the hopkins & dickinson mfg. co., new york city, ny. the patterns exhibited in the builders’ hardware or “trimmings” was likely first introduced in their 1874 product catalog and remained available for purchase in their 1879 hardware catalog.

when listing these newly acquired hardware components on the website, i thought i would provide an image galley highlighting some of their additional hardware so one can fully appreciate both the scope and highly skilled craftsmanship that h & d was known for beginning in the 1870’s when the vast array of design and fabrication methodology of ornamented hardware was beginning to take off.

a sample of the most recent hardware is featured below, with duplicates and/or quantity available. the image gallery at the very bottom of the post features highlighted hardware posted on the urban remains website throughout the years.
