04 Sep urban remains acquires collection of late 19th and early 20th east coast commercial building elevator signs and artifacts

several boxes filled with late 19th and early 20th century antique american elevator signs and artifacts collected by an elevator serviceman while working on historically important buildings from new york city to philadelphia arrived at urban remains last week.

the collection includes seldom found signage and mechanical objects executed by or for several elevator companies located in chicago, philadelphia, and new york. the majority of signage, medallions, and push button plaques come from building elevators installed by the otis elevator company.
