the images were taken shortly after midway gardens was completed in 1914.

several architectural elements (e.g., concrete sprites, geometric panels, urns, art glass, etc.) were salvaged during demolition by william j. newman and company in 1929.

newman himself took several sculptures and concrete panels to his his summer retreat at dawn manor in wisconsin dells.

olgivanna wright purchased full-figured sprites from madame helen raab (she purchased dawn manor from newman) and brought them to taliesin west, where they reside today.
