revisited the mecca exhibit (located at the cultural center) with a reporter i have since befriended. the timing was perfect. to our great surprise, we crossed paths with tim samuelson – the show’s curator and chicago’s cultural historian.

we were kindly invited to spend an afternoon with tim in his office, conversing about all matters sullivan – including a an eye-opening discussion pertaining to his final days, where he died penniless in the warner hotel.

as many already know, tim is incredibly kind and knowledgeable about everything chicago, and it was an honor to spend a few hours talking to him in a very relaxed environment.
