chronicling restoration of cook county hospital’s facade over past two years

i’ve taken several thousand images documenting the restoration of cook county hospital’s facade, beginning in 2018, shortly before tradesmen began scrubbing decades worth of grime from the white glazed terra cotta (it was last cleaned in 1953).
once the facade was cleaned, i returned to document scaffolding being erected to repair and/or stabilize structural steel, anchorage and existing terra cotta in preparation for pieces that needed to be recreated or replicated and reinstalled.
after shelving the project for nearly a year, i was eager to return after being told that the enclosed scaffolding was finally being taken down in order to document sections of the newly restored facade.
