07 Jun much-needed terra cotta restoration of milwaukee’s historically important frederick pabst’s mansion and adjoining world’s fair pavilion underway

the exterior buff-colored ornamental terra cotta ornament on the flemish renaissance revival-styled frederick mansion (george ferry, architect, 1892) is in need of serious repair (see images below). restoration of the adjoining 1893 world’s fair pabst beer pavilion (designed by architect otto strack, who also designed the extant pabst theater), is underway, with the boston terra cotta company replicating and replacing the structure’s original terra cotta that was executed by the northwestern terra cotta company, chicago, ills. further information will be provided when time permits.
