parts, pieces, and systems of 19th century chicago frame cottages

if a 19th century chicago frame cottage is handed a death sentence, you can rest assured i will be there to document its death. i will pick apart, lightly clean, and photograph any and all relevant building materials in my studio. i do this to amass “real” data and gain further insight into the materials and methods used in constructing these cottages. the following images represent a tiny fraction of the parts, pieces, and “systems” i have meticulously documented and stored away in both digital and physical form for any and all architectural historians, historic building material specialists, and preservationists to access – free of charge – to assist in their research.
