the house was commissioned by ingwald moe, a successful contractor who later became the local representative for wright’s “american system-built homes” venture.






frank lloyd wright designed two main residences in gary, indiana, as part of his american system-built homes project (c. 1910s), though both have faced preservation challenges. the ingwald moe house (669 van buren st) is a well-preserved, privately owned 1909 home, while the wilbur wynant house (600 fillmore st), a rare 1916 model d 101, was mostly destroyed by fire in 2006.
