the destruction of german evangelical lutheran church (1896), located at 2028 north richmond street, chicago, il., is moving at a swift pace, with facade and opposing towers (the north houses the church bell) still standing, but not for long.

thankfully, the time capsules, stained glass, and pressed and folded exterior copper finials have been carefully removed and are in safe harbor. the churh bell will be removed by crane and handed over to logan square preservation.
