frozen in time: eric j. nordstrom’s photographic documenation of midwest cities as they appeared in the 1990s and early 2000s

after reviewing these early images – taken during the early days of my photographic career –  i’ve realized that while my creative vision remains similar, my technical skills, mastery of equipment and lighting, post-processing abilities, and instinctive and intellectual comprehension of my subjects have improved by leaps and bounds over the past three decades.

although most of these images are technically poor – a good representation of my very first attempt at digital photography coupled with vapid post-processing effects – i still appreciate this odd, seemingly random and disjointed collection—perhaps due to nostalgia for the moments and memories they captured and my contiuned stubborness to change, especially since much of what i recorded has vanished or been drastically altered beyond recognition.
